Is 75Hz Good for Gaming – Gamer Opinion

Often gamers want to experience the best possible experience while playing. Every detail is important for a more comfortable playing space. Starting with ergonomic mouse and finishing high-quality screen image. But a lot of things are based on budget and not all of us are hardcore gamers. That’s why sometimes it is necessary to consider cheaper options, such as a 75 Hz monitor. So is 75Hz is good for gaming? or not?

75hz Monitor for Gaming

75hz is a great choice for the vast majority of gamers. It should also be borne in mind that 60 Hz is the industry standard for long time. Console players can only now get a refresh rate higher than 60 Hz (PlayStation 5 can operate 144hz). For example, the maximum refresh rate (Hz) for PlayStation 4 (PS4) and PS4 pro is 60 Hz.

Most screens these days, whether it’s your phone, laptop, or computer monitor, support a frequency of at least 60 Hz. Consoles are designed to operate at a rate of 60 frames per second (1 frame per second = 1 Hz).

So an extra 15 Hz count from the industry standard of 60 Hz is not bad and some good experience while playing can be felt.

Some players say that the difference between 60 Hz and 75 Hz is obvious and that between 75 Hz and 144 Hz is mostly felt in racing games.

60hz vs 75hz vs 100 hz

We find an interesting comparison that shows a clear difference between 60 Hz and 75 Hz and a less significant difference between 75 Hz and 100 Hz.

Difference Between Hz and FPS

FPS means – frame rate per second and Hz means – refresh rate. But how do these two units connect and what makes them different?

Usually explaining that would be understandable Hz – is how frequently the monitor will refresh itself (per second) and FPS is a signal sent by video card (GPU) to the monitor. So the difference is if you have a powerful video card that can operate a large number of FPS it does not mean that the monitor can handle the GPU signal.

How many FPS can the eye see?

Opinions often differ among the players because scientists say, that human eyes cannot see more than 24 fps. But how can this be true? If there is an obvious difference between 30 fps and 60 fps while playing?

The interesting thing is how the brain tries to visualize where it can process and where it can do it. If you don’t see a difference between fps, that doesn’t mean it won’t help you while playing the game.

Verdict

In our opinion, if you have a 75Hz monitor, and if you are not a pro gamer who participates in various online tournaments then such monitors will still meet your needs. Of course, if your budget suits you, a new screen with a higher number of Hz will definitely not hurt.
